Enigmas

Here’s a new page of my blog where I write about the things in life that make no sense.  Feel free to add to this as you see fit.

#1:  In a lot of countries you need to have a job before you can live there.  But in order to get a job, you need to already live there.

#2:  People who still choose to drink and drive even after they have been busted, got their license suspended, practically killed themselves or someone else, got DUIs, and got their car totaled.  Who is giving these people car keys???  And why?

#3:  People who continue to have children even though they can’t afford them and can’t take care of them.  Birth control is WAY cheaper than having a kid.  It’s not like the tax deduction you get is really that great.  Also, I can understand one, but if you realize you can’t handle it, don’t have any more.  Seriously folks, what is up with this?

#4:  Sending a nanny to hang out with your child at his/her daycare.  O.k…isn’t that a bit redundant?

#5:  The Earth is actually round but I never feel like I’m walking on anything round.  It’s weird.

#6:  Republicans saying that they are “for change,” even though they have been in office for the past eight years and have accomplished many of the things they’ve wanted to accomplish (Rep. pres. for 8 years, and Rep. congress for 4).  Does this then mean that they don’t like themselves or don’t agree with what they have done?  Yet they are not all turning into Democrats.  I’m so confused.

#7:  Chicken or the egg.  Really.  Which came first?

#8:  I thought people moved to Alaska to run away and hide from the problems of the rest of the country.  Now they are calling the shots???

#9:  Our culture is centered around trying to make the “retirement” years the best years of our lives.  Yeah.  That’s when I’m going to wait to have fun.  When I can’t walk, can’t pee on my own, and need someone to feed me.

#10:  Catch 22.  If you think you are crazy, you’re really not crazy.  If you don’t think you are crazy, you actually are crazy.  This potential conundrum is why you need to have a buddy system in life.  A trusted adult/friend/confidant who will tell you if you have lost your mind.
